My 6th Year

My Journey
It’s been 6 year since I started my freelance journey in the Philippines, and the experience has been a rollercoaster of growth, challenges, and rewards.
Working from the province of the Philippines has been both a blessing and a learning experience. The quiet surroundings, the slow mornings, the ability to step outside and breathe fresh air—it’s a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of city life. The flexibility of freelancing has given me the freedom to design my own schedule, but with great freedom comes great responsibility (aka, the never-ending battle with discipline and structure).
At first, juggling multiple projects without a set routine was chaotic—I’d either overwork myself or get too comfortable with the flexibility. But over time, I found my rhythm, learning that success in freelancing isn’t just about talent—it’s about systems, self-motivation, and knowing when to log off.
Living in the Philippines has offered me the opportunity to work with clients from around the world, which has expanded my portfolio and pushed my creative boundaries. However, being in a different time zone and managing remote communication can sometimes be a struggle, but it’s taught me the importance of effective time management and setting clear expectations.
Freelancing hasn’t just changed my work; it’s shaped my entire lifestyle. It’s given me the opportunity to be more present—not just in my career but in my personal life, especially as a parent.
Balancing work and parenting is an ongoing dance. Some days, I feel like a superhero juggling tasks like a pro; other days, it's a struggle to find the pause button. But freelancing has given me the chance to create my own version of work-life balance—where I don’t have to choose between being a hands-on parent and running a thriving business. It’s not always perfect, but it’s mine.
Reflecting on the past six years, I see just how much I’ve grown—not just as a strategist, but as an entrepreneur, a leader, and a person. This journey has taught me that adaptability, continuous learning, and a commitment to personal growth are key to long-term success.
And the best part? This is just the beginning.
As I step into another year of freelancing, I’m excited for what’s next—new opportunities, bigger challenges, and even more room to grow. If these past six years have taught me anything, it’s that the best things come from taking the leap, trusting the process, and never stopping the pursuit of something greater.
